  • ABOUT US

     

    The Mazer School of Talmudic Studies (MYP) program is a vibrant undergraduate Torah studies program that runs from 9am-2:30pm for students interested in a classic Talmud curriculum, studying independently and under the guidance of world-class faculty.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities:

    • The role of a MYP faculty member (“Rebbe”) begins at 9am-12pm with overseeing lecture preparation in the beit midrash and continues with daily lecture from 1pm-2:30pm.
    • Ability to teach Talmudic subjects at an advanced level in a way that is also interesting and relevant to students.
    • Spend time mentoring students and should be able to understand their specific challenges and situation.
    • Expected to be available and reachable by students after teaching hours and to coordinate shiur events and meetings with students one-on-one.
    • Attend periodic faculty meetings

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience and Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
    • Ordination
    • Experience teaching young adults

     

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Proficient in preparing daily lectures on topics of halacha, gemara, tanach, and hashkafa.
    • Charismatic personality and able to connect well with others
    • Experience with counseling/mentoring of young adults
    • Team player and able to collaborate with colleagues
